Welcome to the Glenville Energy Park Home Page.  This site is designed to provide interested stakeholders with as much information as possible about the proposed development of a 520-megawatt combined-cycle power generation facility in the Scotia-Glenville Industrial Park.

This site will be updated regularly to ensure the most up-to-date information is available.  One important note:  this site provides access to many documents and covers many issues in general.  For the most technical information, please contact GEP directly.

Please check back often to see new developments, announcements of upcoming public meetings and any new filings or materials produced by GEP.

The menu bars to the left will help you navigate the site.  The What's New section will give you a quick outline of recent events and those upcoming.  Go to Background Information for more general information on GEP.  The Calendar section will provide you with information on upcoming meetings and important timelines for the GEP project.  The Significant GEP Documents section will enable you to access a number of documents produced by or about GEP throughout the Article X process.

Feel free to contact GEP by following the Contacting GEP link.

On May 28 & 29, 2002, the New York State Siting Board held  public meeting son Glenville Energy Park.  The meetings were held at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the First Reformed Church; 224 N. Ballston Avenue in Scotia.  Click Here for more information.

The Glenville Energy Park application has been deemed complete by the New York State Department of Public Service (DPS).  In deeming the application complete, the DPS now clears the way for a full review of the Application under the state's Article X law.  For more information, click here.

Glenville Energy Park submitted its Article X application to the New York State Board on Electric Generation Siting and the Environment (the Siting Board) on January 31, 2002.  The Application is a comprehensive (eight volume) examination of all the potential impacts and benefits of the GEP project.  Click Here to view or download (by right clicking) a copy of the announcement of the application's filing (as a PDF File).  (This is the same announcement which ran in the 1/31/02 Daily Gazette, the 1/31/02 Glenville Journal and was mailed to many community residents.).

Stipulations Signed by State Agencies

Stipulation agreements have been signed by the New York State Departments of Public Service, Health and Environmental Conservation.  The final (signed) stipulation documents can be found here.  Signing of the stipulation agreements is one more step towards GEP's application filing.

GEP Newsletter

In response to the many inquiries about our project from our neighbors, we have prepared a simple newsletter to keep everyone in the community abreast of the progress we are making.  We have made considerable strides towards our goal of submitting our Article X application to the State later this summer.  The result of some of that work can be found in this newsletter (distributed throughout the Town and Village on July 3, 2001).  Right click here to download a PDF version of the newsletter or send an email here to get a hard copy.
